When a neurodivergent teenager finds out that her little Scottish village used to kill witches because they were different, she becomes involved in a memorial effort.
I’ve been wondering about the witch trials that took place in Juniper centuries ago ever since Ms. Murphy told us about it. They weren’t magical individuals. They resembled me. unique, just like me.
I have autism. Some see things, but not me. I hear noises they are able to ignore. I can also experience many emotions at once. Having no one to speak for them, I consider the witches. Not everyone in our tiny community is aware of this. Maybe, though, if I keep trying, someone will. I’ll make sure the witches are remembered. as their narrative is not over yet. In the same way that mine is bigger.
